The ResMed AirTouch F30i Is Coming — And It Isn't Memory Foam
ResMed's softest full-face seal yet arrives in Europe in two versions: Clear and Comfort. Here's what the fabric cushion actually is, how it differs from the AirFit F30i you may already own, and how to be first in line.

What the AirTouch F30i is
The AirTouch F30i is a full-face CPAP mask built on a design many European users already know well: the under-the-nose cushion and top-of-the-head tube connection of the AirFit F30i. The frame routes tubing up and away from your face, the elbow rotates a full 360°, and the cushion sits below the nose rather than covering the bridge.
What's new is the seal itself. Instead of a moulded silicone cushion, the AirTouch F30i uses ResMed's ComfiSoft cushion — breathable, moisture-wicking fabric fused to flexible silicone — combined with AdaptiSeal technology, which is designed to contour to the shape of your face and keep sealing as you move through the night.
In short: the same minimal-contact architecture, with a fundamentally different material where the mask touches your skin.
Why it isn't a memory foam mask
This is worth stating plainly, because it's the single most common misunderstanding about this mask — and we've already seen it repeated in product listings elsewhere.
The AirTouch name has, until now, meant memory foam. The AirTouch F20 and AirTouch N20 both use a soft foam cushion that moulds to the face and is replaced roughly monthly. If you've used either, that's the association you'll be carrying into this launch.
The AirTouch F30i does not work that way. Its ComfiSoft cushion is a fabric-and-silicone composite, not foam. That difference matters practically: the cleaning routine, the replacement rhythm, and the way the cushion behaves against damp skin are all different from a foam mask.
If you've been avoiding AirTouch masks because foam cushions can't be washed the way silicone can, the AirTouch F30i is worth a second look. It belongs to the AirTouch family by name, but not by material.
Clear vs Comfort: which is which
Both versions will be available through CPAPeuropa. They share the same ComfiSoft cushion, the same sizing, the same headgear and the same QuietAir venting. The difference is the frame.

Put simply: Clear softens where the mask seals. Comfort softens everywhere the mask touches. If red marks along your cheeks or forehead are what wakes you up, Comfort is the one to watch.
If you already own an AirFit F30i or X30i
You may not need to buy a complete mask system at all.
The AirTouch F30i shares its component architecture with the AirFit F30i and AirFit X30i. Cushions, frames and headgear are interchangeable across all three. That means an existing F30i or X30i user can buy the ComfiSoft cushion on its own and drop it into the frame they already own — or, for the full soft-touch experience, add the fabric-wrapped Comfort frame.
Cushion only
Swap the ComfiSoft cushion into your existing AirFit F30i or X30i frame. The cheapest way to try the new seal.
Comfort frame
Add the fabric-wrapped frame if the pressure points that bother you are on your cheeks and forehead rather than under your nose.
Existing headgear
The headgear is shared across the F30i, X30i and AirTouch F30i, so there's no need to replace it if yours is still in good condition.
Complete system
New to the F30i platform, or replacing a worn mask entirely? The full system is the simpler route.
One thing to check before ordering parts: cushion and frame sizes are independent. Any cushion size fits any frame size, so note down both from your current mask before you choose.

At around 20 dB, the QuietAir vent is quieter than a whisper in a library. For anyone sharing a bed, that is usually the difference between a mask that gets used every night and one that doesn't.
What ResMed's fitting study found
ResMed ran a study on the AirTouch F30i in Sydney between 17 March and 7 April 2025, using the AirFit F30i as the benchmark. Thirty-three adults took part, all of whom had been on PAP therapy for at least six months and were already using a full-face mask.
Two caveats worth keeping in mind when you read those numbers. The sample was small — thirty-three people — and the participants were experienced PAP users, not people trying a mask for the first time. Self-fitting is generally easier when you already know what a good seal feels like. Treat the figures as encouraging rather than conclusive.
Magnet safety: read before ordering
The AirTouch F30i headgear uses magnetic clips. They make the mask quick to put on and take off without readjusting the straps every night — but magnets require a specific safety check that applies to you and to anyone who sleeps beside you.
Check this before you order
- Magnets in this mask may interfere with certain implanted medical devices, including pacemakers and defibrillators.
- The check applies to your bed partner as well as to you — proximity during sleep is what matters.
- Consult your doctor or sleep specialist, and read the contraindications section of the mask user guide in full, before use.
- Non-magnetic headgear clips are available for the F30i platform if magnets are unsuitable for your household.
This isn't a reason to rule the mask out. It's a reason to make one phone call before you order.
Who it suits — and who it doesn't
No mask suits everyone, and a soft cushion doesn't solve every problem.
Worth waiting for if:
- You get red marks, pressure points or skin irritation from a silicone full-face cushion
- You sleep hot, or wake up with a damp, sweaty feeling around the mask
- You move a lot at night, or sleep on your side or stomach
- You already use an AirFit F30i or X30i and want a softer seal without changing your whole setup
- You want a clear line of sight for reading or watching something before you fall asleep
Probably not the right mask if:
- Your current problem is air leaking at the seal rather than skin discomfort — a fit or sizing review will do more than a new material
- You or your bed partner has an implanted device that rules out magnets, and you'd rather not manage separate non-magnetic clips
- You breathe only through your nose and tolerate a nasal mask well — a full-face mask is more equipment than you need

Frequently asked questions
When will the AirTouch F30i be available in Europe?
A European release has been confirmed for both the Clear and Comfort versions, but we're not quoting a date until stock is physically with us. Joining the waiting list is the fastest way to find out — we email list members before general release.
Is the AirTouch F30i a memory foam mask?
No. Despite the AirTouch name, which on the F20 and N20 does mean memory foam, the F30i uses a ComfiSoft cushion made from fabric fused to flexible silicone. It is not a foam cushion and is not cared for like one.
What's the difference between Clear and Comfort?
The cushion is identical. Clear uses a conventional frame; Comfort wraps the entire frame in soft, breathable fabric. Choose Comfort if the discomfort you want to fix is along your cheeks and forehead rather than under your nose.
Will my AirFit F30i parts fit it?
Yes. Cushions, frames and headgear are interchangeable across the AirFit F30i, AirFit X30i and AirTouch F30i. You can buy the ComfiSoft cushion alone and fit it to the frame you already own.
Can I use it with the ResMed AirMini?
Not directly. The AirMini uses a proprietary connection rather than standard 22mm tubing, so a third-party universal tube adapter is required. Check compatibility carefully before buying, and note that adapters are not ResMed products.
Does it need a prescription?
CPAP masks are prescription medical devices in most European markets, and requirements vary by country. Check the requirements that apply where you live before ordering.
How do I know which size to order?
Cushion size and frame size are chosen separately, and any cushion fits any frame. If you currently use an AirFit F30i or X30i, both sizes are printed on your existing parts. If you're new to the platform, contact us and we'll help you work it out before you order.
