Setup & Use 📘

Clinical Setup Required: This device must be configured by a healthcare professional. Place the unit on a stable surface. Connect the breathing circuit to the air outlet. Perform the "Learn Circuit" function. Select the patient mode (Adult/Pediatric) and Pathology Default. Connect oxygen if prescribed. Press the Start button to begin ventilation.

Versatile Ventilation for Changing Respiratory Needs

From hospital to home, the ResMed Stellar 150 provides a seamless continuum of care. Engineered for patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions—such as COPD, Neuromuscular Disease (NMD), and Obesity Hypoventilation—this ventilator adapts as the patient's condition evolves. It can be used for non-invasive mask ventilation or invasive tracheostomy support, ensuring that patients receive the right therapy at the right time without changing devices.

iVAPS Intelligent Therapy

The Stellar 150 features iVAPS (intelligent Volume-Assured Pressure Support), a mode that automatically adjusts pressure support to maintain a guaranteed target alveolar ventilation. It monitors the patient's unique respiratory rate and adapts in real-time, ensuring stable gas exchange even if the patient's breathing drive changes during sleep.

Pathology Defaults for Quick Setup

To simplify the initiation of therapy, the Stellar 150 includes preset "Pathology Defaults." Clinicians can select from specific disease categories like Obstructive Lung Disease, Restrictive Lung Disease, or Normal Lung Mechanics. The device then automatically applies advanced clinical settings optimized for that condition, allowing for faster and more accurate therapy tuning.

Mobility and Independence

Weighing just 2.1 kg, the Stellar 150 is designed for patients on the move. It features an internal battery that provides up to 2 hours of power, perfect for short trips or switching between power sources. For extended mobility, it is compatible with the ResMed Power Station II (RPSII), offering up to 8 hours of additional runtime.

Features

Pediatric to Adult Use

The device is cleared for use on patients weighing as little as 13 kg, making it a versatile solution that can support both children and adults with complex respiratory needs.

Vsync Leak Management

ResMed’s advanced leak compensation technology monitors flow breath-by-breath. If a mask leak occurs, Vsync adjusts the flow immediately to ensure the correct trigger and cycle thresholds are maintained, preventing patient-ventilator desynchrony.

High Oxygen Enrichment

The Stellar 150 allows for the bleed-in of high-flow oxygen (up to 30 L/min), making it suitable for patients with severe hypoxemia who require significant supplemental oxygen alongside their ventilation.

Dual Program Memory

Clinicians can set and store two distinct ventilation programs (e.g., "Day" and "Night" or "Active" and "Rest"). The patient can easily switch between these programs with a simple button press to match their current activity level.

Learn Circuit Function

With the touch of a single button, the device performs a "Learn Circuit" test. It evaluates the resistance and compliance of the attached breathing circuit (tubing and mask) and automatically compensates for it, ensuring precise pressure delivery at the mask.

Real-Time Monitoring

The large color screen displays essential real-time data, including pressure graphs, leak rates, and tidal volume. This allows caregivers to visually confirm the effectiveness of the ventilation at a glance.
