This intelligent device continuously tracks your breathing effort and uses the clinically proven PaceWave algorithm to stabilize respiration minute-by-minute:

PaceWave™ Technology – The device learns your unique breathing pattern and minute ventilation. If your breathing slows or stops (central apnea), the machine automatically intervenes with personalized pressure support to deliver a breath, then seamlessly recedes when your natural rhythm returns.
ASVAuto Mode – Adapts to your specific needs breath-by-breath. It treats Obstructive Sleep Apnea by auto-adjusting the EPAP (exhalation pressure) and treats Central Sleep Apnea by auto-adjusting Pressure Support, ensuring your airway stays open and your breathing stays steady.

PaceWave™ Algorithm

For patients with unstable breathing rhythms, PaceWave provides a safety net. This advanced algorithm monitors your minute ventilation in real-time. If it detects that your breathing effort has dropped (a central event), it rapidly increases pressure support to "breathe for you," ensuring you get the oxygen you need. As soon as your own breathing effort returns, the support gently backs off, providing a seamless and natural experience.

ASVAuto Stabilization

The device treats multiple issues simultaneously using ASVAuto mode. It stabilizes your upper airway by automatically adjusting the Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure (EPAP) to prevent obstructions (snoring or obstructive apnea). At the same time, it adjusts Pressure Support to stabilize your ventilation, ensuring you are neither under-ventilated nor over-ventilated throughout the night.

Vsync Leak Management

Precise ventilation requires a stable circuit, but mask leaks are common. ResMed’s Vsync technology monitors the leak flow breath-by-breath and automatically compensates for it. This is critical for ASV therapy, as it ensures the machine triggers (starts a breath) and cycles (ends a breath) in perfect sync with your needs, even if your mask shifts or leaks during the night.

What is the difference between ASV and BiPAP?

Standard BiPAP (like AirCurve 10 S or VAuto) provides pressure support to help you breathe, but it relies on you to start the breath.
ASV (Adaptive Servo-Ventilation) is designed for Central Sleep Apnea, where the brain stops signaling the body to breathe. The ASV machine effectively "learns" your breathing rhythm and will actively deliver a breath if you stop breathing, keeping you safe and stable.

Does it come with a heated hose?

Is the AirCurve 10 CS PaceWave compatible with all masks?

Yes, it uses a standard 22mm connection and works with most CPAP masks.
However: Because ASV therapy involves rapid pressure changes to treat central apnea, a Full Face Mask is highly recommended. This ensures that the air pressure reaches your lungs and isn't lost through mouth leaks, which could compromise the therapy's effectiveness.
