Flying with the Yuwell Pocket ✈️

Airline policies on CPAP devices vary, so contact your carrier before you travel to confirm that you can bring it on board as a medical device in addition to your regular cabin allowance. Keep the machine in your cabin bag rather than checked luggage. A doctor's letter or prescription stating that you use CPAP for sleep apnea can make security checks quicker. Pack your mask and tubing in a clean bag so they stay hygienic on the way.

Less Machine, Same Therapy

Full-size CPAP machines are built around a water tank and a large blower. The Yuwell Pocket leaves the tank out and shrinks everything else, which brings it down to about 14 × 8 × 5 cm. What stays is what matters for treatment: automatic pressure adjustment, a ramp for falling asleep and pressure relief when you breathe out. Set it up next to your bed at home, take it to a holiday rental, or pack it for a long-haul flight – the therapy settings travel with you.

APAP That Reads Your Breathing

Your airway doesn't need the same support all night. It tends to collapse more easily when you lie on your back or during REM sleep, and less at other times. In APAP mode, the Yuwell Pocket works between a minimum and maximum pressure set by your clinician, raising support when it detects your airway narrowing and easing off when it is no longer needed. Prefer one steady pressure? Switch to fixed CPAP mode.

Gentler Start, Easier Exhale

Getting used to air pressure is often the hardest part of CPAP. The ramp starts you off at a low pressure that builds slowly while you drift off, so you are asleep before full pressure arrives. Exhalation relief briefly lowers the pressure each time you breathe out, which many people find makes the airflow feel more natural.

What is the difference between APAP and CPAP mode?

Can the Yuwell Pocket be my only CPAP machine?

It can be used every night at home as well as for travel. The main difference from a full-size machine is that it has no heated water humidifier. If you rely on heated humidification – for example because of a very dry nose or mouth – discuss with your clinician whether a waterless device suits you, or use it as your travel machine alongside your home device.
