What Is myAir?

myAir is ResMed's digital health service for people using a ResMed CPAP machine. Launched in 2015, it collects the therapy data your device already records and presents it as a daily sleep score, along with tips and educational content. ResMed describes it as an online support programme designed to help patients stay engaged with therapy.

The service is free with a supported ResMed device and available both as a web dashboard and as a mobile app for iOS and Android.

What myAir Does

Four things, essentially:

Data Tracking

Records apneas and hypopneas per hour, mask seal and usage duration for every night of therapy, building a picture over weeks rather than single nights.

Daily Feedback

Turns each night into a score out of 100, so you can see immediately whether something changed — and what.

Education

Articles and videos on sleep apnea and CPAP therapy, aimed at the questions that come up in the first weeks of treatment.

Remote Monitoring

Your provider can review the same data through AirView, adjusting settings or spotting problems without an in-clinic visit.

How to Read Your Night Reports

Setting up takes a few minutes, and after that the process is automatic:

  • Create an account — register on the ResMed website or through the myAir app.
  • Connect your device — link your ResMed CPAP machine to the account. Supported devices sync wirelessly.
  • Let it upload — your machine sends each night's data automatically. There is nothing to enter manually.
  • Open the dashboard — the home screen shows your therapy summary and last night's sleep score.
  • Tap a date — opens the detailed report for that night: events per hour, mask seal and usage hours.
  • Read the tips — myAir suggests adjustments, most often around mask fit and consistency of use.

How the score is built: myAir weights usage hours most heavily (up to 70 points), then mask seal (up to 20), then events per hour and mask on/off events (up to 5 each). This is why a night with good AHI can still score poorly — a significant leak or removing the mask a few times costs you more points than the events themselves.

Main Features

Daily Sleep Scores

A single number out of 100 that reflects usage, mask seal and events — the fastest way to see whether last night was typical.

Detailed Night Reports

Per-night breakdowns you can scroll back through, making trends visible rather than isolated numbers.

Provider Access

The same data feeds your clinician's AirView dashboard, which is what makes remote pressure adjustments possible.

Personalised Tips

Coaching messages tied to what your data actually shows, rather than generic advice.

Mobile App

Available for iOS and Android, with notifications and reports you can export as a PDF.

Data Security

Health data handled under ResMed's privacy framework and applicable data protection regulations.

Other Ways to Use myAir

Beyond the nightly score, the data has practical uses:

  • Mask decisions: persistent seal problems in your reports are useful evidence when discussing a different mask size or style.
  • Troubleshooting: the app includes guides for common problems, which often resolve issues without a call.
  • Therapy adjustment: your clinician can use the trend data to fine-tune pressure settings rather than guessing from how you feel.
  • Compliance reporting: where insurers require proof of usage, reports can be exported and shared.
  • Goal setting: the score gives you something concrete to work towards in the first weeks, when adherence matters most.

Which Devices Work with myAir?

myAir works exclusively with these ResMed machines:

Supported

  • ResMed AirSense 10 — standard cellular models
  • ResMed AirSense 11 — cellular and Bluetooth
  • ResMed AirCurve 10 — BiLevel range
  • ResMed AirCurve 11 — current BiLevel range

Not Supported

  • ResMed S9 and earlier generations
  • AirSense 10 Card-to-Cloud (C2C) — no cellular modem; data moves by SD card
  • Machines from other manufacturers — Philips, Löwenstein, BMC and others use their own platforms

Downloading the App

myAir is available on Google Play and the Apple App Store. You'll need the serial number from the underside of your machine to complete setup.

What Users Say

myAir generally reviews well, though the criticisms are consistent enough to be worth knowing about before you rely on it.

What Works

  • Ease of use: the interface is straightforward and accessible to users who aren't comfortable with apps generally.
  • Motivation: the daily score genuinely helps adherence in the early weeks, which is when most people abandon therapy.
  • Transparency: having your own data, rather than waiting for a clinic appointment, is valued by most users.
  • Education: the built-in content answers the questions that otherwise become support calls.

Common Complaints

  • Limited depth: myAir shows summary data only. Users wanting waveform-level detail turn to third-party software such as OSCAR.
  • Compatibility: occasional problems with specific phone models or OS versions.
  • Connectivity: sync failures are reported periodically, usually resolving on their own but disruptive when tracking closely.
  • Privacy questions: as with any health app, some users want clearer detail on how data is stored and shared.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is myAir free?
Yes. myAir is included with a supported ResMed device at no additional cost. You'll need the device serial number to register, and data upload relies on either the built-in cellular connection or, on the AirSense 11, a Bluetooth link to your phone.
Why is my sleep score low when I slept well?
Because usage hours carry most of the weight. The score allocates up to 70 points for hours used, 20 for mask seal, and 5 each for events per hour and mask on/off events. A short night, a significant leak, or taking the mask off a few times will pull the score down even if your AHI was excellent.
Can my doctor see my myAir data?
Yes, if your device is registered to their AirView account. AirView is the clinical counterpart to myAir — same data, presented for clinical use. It's what allows a provider to review your AHI and leak trends, and in many cases adjust pressure settings remotely.
Does myAir work with an AirSense 10 Card-to-Cloud?
No. The C2C variant has no cellular modem, so there's nothing to upload data automatically. To review or share your therapy data you need to remove the SD card, insert it into a computer, and upload the files to AirView or a compatible program such as OSCAR.
What happens if I lose signal or turn off Bluetooth?
Nothing is lost. The machine stores detailed therapy data in internal memory and uploads it automatically once a connection returns. Your reports will backfill for the missing nights.
Can I use myAir with a non-ResMed machine?
No. myAir is exclusive to ResMed devices. Other manufacturers run their own platforms — Philips has DreamMapper, BMC has its own app, and so on. If you're switching brands, expect to switch apps as well.

The Verdict

myAir does one thing well: it makes therapy data visible without requiring you to interpret it. The daily score is deliberately simple, and that simplicity is the point — it's aimed at helping people stay on therapy through the difficult first weeks, not at giving you clinical-grade analysis.

If you want deeper detail than myAir provides, third-party software like OSCAR reads the same SD card data at a far more granular level. But for most users, myAir plus regular review with your provider covers what's actually needed.

Please note: myAir is a patient support tool, not a diagnostic device. Sleep scores and nightly reports are useful for tracking adherence and spotting changes, but they don't replace clinical assessment. Discuss persistent high AHI, leak problems or discomfort with your sleep specialist, and never change pressure settings yourself.
