Which are the best-selling CPAP masks currently available in the United Kingdom?

Hands down, some of the most popular CPAP masks currently in the UK market are the latest Resmed models. These are the most ordered best-sellers our customers in the UK have been purchasing in 2022.

CPAP masks - full-face and nasal models

See all models here.

Choose your mask not according to how popular it is, but according to your personal NEEDS

The main purpose of a CPAP mask is to keep your airways open and prevent apnoea episodes and snoring. The way for a mask to deliver that air and stop sleep apnoea from wreaking havoc on your sleep is through the mouth, through the nose (nasal models) or through both the mouth and nose (full-face models).

Another important thing is the way the mask is attached to your face – through a full-blown headgear strap and a complete frame that covers both mouth and nose or through a discrete plastic strap, ending in a gel cushion that cover just your nose.

Are you looking for a small, discrete mask with the fewest points of contact with your face or are you looking for a big, tough to come off while you’re sleeping and turning mask with the least chance of leaking throughout the night?

There’s a Resmed masks for each of these personal needs and preferences.

<<<SHOP CPAP MASK WITH EXPRESS DELIVERY TO ANY LOCATION IN THE UK>>>

How to choose the right mask type?

There are many types of CPAP masks out there. The three major types are full-face, nasal and nasal pillows masks. All types can be found and ordered here at CPAPeuropa, BUT please be sure to know what’s your type as this is very important for your successful sleep apnoea therapy.

Actually, the masks is probably the first most important thing in sleep apnoea treatment as it decides comfort, therapy effectiveness and compliance. If your masks is leaking, or it not the right size for you, or makes your face hurt in the morning, or is too loud for you to sleep with… then you need a better mask!

Choosing the right mask is a decision that should be entirely determined on your needs! Are you a back sleeper? Do you breathe from the mouth when you are sleeping? Do you read in bed before going to sleep?

All of these factors should be taken into account when selecting a CPAP mask.

CPAP Masks, Parts, and Accessories

In addition to a variety of different masks for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure therapy (CPAP), we also carry replacement parts and comfort accessories for almost every Resmed mask in the market.

So if you already have a mask and need only a specific part for it, no problem! Browse CPAP masks parts here:

How to clean your CPAP mask?

Maintaining your CPAP equipment in spotless condition not only prolongs its life, but makes sleep apnoea therapy more comfortable while keeping you healthy!

Cleaning your CPAP mask may not be an easy task though. You need to consult its manual to know what parts of it (headgear, connector, cushion, pillow, etc.) can be cleaned with warm water or mild soap and which parts should never be exposed to chemicals.

A great way to automatically clean your CPAP masks, tubings, and even the CPAP’s humidifier is the Lumin 3B UV-C Light device.

How to chose the right mask size?

Example of a bestselling CPAP masks in the UK for 2022

If you have undergone titration study, then your doctor has probably already established the most suitable masks (and CPAP pressure) for your needs. So you’ll just have to find the specific model in the right size.

Sleep studies (or titration studies) often give you the option to try several masks even before you begin the study. The staff conducting the study will let you try different CPAP masks in order to get you fitted with the most comfortable nasal or full-face type. If you don’t find the mask comfortable, you should ask either for another size or for another model. In most of these cases simply changing the size of the headgear, cushion or pillow is enough to achieve that comfortable and leak-free therapy that is so important for sleep apnoea therapy.

Every CPAP mask comes in different sizes (except several pediatric masks that come in a universal size). Resmed masks specifically offer many different sizes (headgear, cushion, pillow size, etc.). Each model — whether it is AirFit, DreamWear (recalled), Fisher, Amara (recalled) or else) has a sizing template (or a fitting guide) designed to help you measure the mask correctly according to your facial features before picking a size.

Some ResMed CPAP masks even come in intermediate sizes like “SML – MED” to accommodate both the size of the patient’s head but also the size of their nose (the N30i is a great example).

If you intend to purchase a brand new model CPAP mask that you haven’t tried before, no worries. Simply scroll to the “Fitting Guide” section in every Resmed CPAP mask you find in our store, and open the attached file with complete instructions and visualizations on how to measure your facial features for the specific mask model!

If you’re still unsure after that, hey — no problem! Our UK customers get 24 hour support in the chat! So feel free to ask us!

Get Fitted With the Appropriate Size

How to choose the right cpap mask size (UK) guideMost of our patients from the UK purchasing CPAP masks from our store already know the exact masks they should be using as they have undergone a titration study (or a sleep study in a clinic), where they have slept with a CPAP device set to a specific pressure level and with a specific type and size of mask according to preference and facial features.

Most mask interfaces come in a spectrum of sizes, and these depend on the manufacturer. There may be plastic sizing templates available. Some masks may have intermediate sizes such as “medium-small” and helpful accommodations like “wide.” Try to select a mask that is large enough to allow adequate air delivery. Avoid over-sized masks that may be prone to shifting on your face or excessive leaking.

Be sure to try it on while it’s attached to a machine delivering your level of air pressure. Put on the headgear and get the full experience.

Patient Resources and Support – UK

In addition to our Free consultation, we strive to provide a variety of free sleep apnoea patient resources and self-help information. We help our UK customers in picking the right CPAP masks (UK) for their prescription and need, while also helping them with sizing and PAP therapy compliance. We also have a doctor on our team who provides free remote consultation and helps our trusting patients with setting up their CPAP devices according to their RS.

We strive to provide our UK customers with the complete pack of services as far as sleep apnoea treatment is concerned. We employ separate teams for:

  • Customer Care
  • Packaging and Shipping
  • Sleep Specialists
  • a Doctor — for the more specific cases and for setting up therapeutic pressure when required.

In addition, most of the masks we carry in our store are carefully described and complete with the official Resmed product manuals, educational videos, and sizing guides.

Top 10 Signs of Sleep Apnea

Top 10 signs of obstructive sleep apnea cover image.

Picture this. You wake up in the morning with the feeling that you didn’t sleep at all. Something was just wrong. You know you snore a lot, but snoring can’t be blamed for that, right? Well, no. But loud snoring and inability to get a good night’s sleep can definitely be a telltale sign that there is an underlying cause for both. There is a range of symptoms that can give away that there is something wrong with your sleep at night. Today we grouped them in a neat collection of top 10 sleep apnea signs that you may not be aware about. Read on to learn more about this serious sleep disorder.

More than simple snoring

You may be surprised how many people feel what we just described above. The fact is that more than a quarter of adults experience the same signs and symptoms that you may have experienced. Al lot of these are possible telltale signs of obstructive having sleep apnea (OSA).

The scary part is that you may be suffering from sleep apnea without even realizing it. If you happen to experience the following symptoms, chances are that you actually do have OSA.

The top 10 signs of Obstructive Sleep Apnea

If you experience one or more of these symptoms on a regular basis, schedule an appointment with your doctor to understand the underlying cause. Here are the top 10 ten sleep apnea symptoms that you should know about:

  1. Loud snoring;
  2. Episodic stops of breathing and awakenings during sleep;
  3. Morning headaches;
  4. Waking with a dry mouth;
  5. Increased blood pressure;
  6. Low blood oxygen levels;
  7. Having trouble focusing;
  8. Daytime sleepiness and fatigue;
  9. Daytime irritability and mood swings;
  10. Inability to get a good restorative sleep (no matter how many hours of sleep you get).

Loud snoring

Many people snore regardless of age and gender. Although not every heavy snorer has obstructive sleep apnea, the majority of OSA sufferers are also loud snorers. In fact, loud snoring is the most frequent telltale sign of sleep apnea. That is because with sleep apnea your upper airways become obstructed at night, which contributes to heavy snoring. The OSA obstruction, combined with a narrowing of the airways, creates the snoring sound that your bed partner might have become all too familiar with.

Episodic gasping for air during sleep

The meaning of the term ‘apnea’ (apnoea, Greek) means a temporary cessation of breathing during sleep. When the breathing cessation occurs, it is up to your brain to immediately understand what is happening to your body and send a panic signal to it to resume your breathing. This panic signal causes the lungs to emergency activate again, making you choke or gasp for air as your body overcomes the apnea. For as long as you experience the obstructions, these brain-stimulated micro-awakenings are going to happen. And they’ll continue to make you gasp for air again and again throughout the night–until the morning clock rings and it’s time to go out of bed and deal with the aftermath.

Waking with a dry mouth

A combination of snoring and sleep apnea most often leads to waking with a dry mouth. And, dry mouth comes with its own group of additional complications–like sore throat, bad breath, and constant thirst. Studies have found that 1 out of three OSA sufferers that don’t use a CPAP machine experience dry mouth symptoms in the morning. On the other end of the spectrum, the majority of CPAP users stop experiencing early morning dry mouth due to their PAP devices do not even allowing the OSA obstruction to happen in the first place. What’s more, many of the contemporary CPAP devices have built-in humidifiers that prevent dry mouth.

Trouble concentrating

Starving the brain out of oxygen during apneic events inevitably affects brain function, research has shown. Studies have also shown a correlation between healthy brain chemical levels and OSA, with altered levels leading to having difficulty concentrating and memory problems.

In short, if you don’t get enough restorative sleep, your brain can’t adequately regulate the required chemicals for full cognitive functionality. This is especially true in regards to the required levels of gamma-Aminobutyric acid (GABA). GABA is the chemical responsible for staying calm and focused.

Studies have found that sleep apnea also affects the levels of glutamate, which is responsible for normal brain function.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea sign: trouble concentrating.

Increased blood pressure and low blood oxygen levels

Sleep apnea causes extreme pauses in breathing during sleep. Each of these pauses causes a sudden drop in blood oxygen levels, and puts additional stress on the cardiovascular system.

During these pauses, the brain sends signals to the blood vessels to in crease the oxygen delivery to the heart so that your organism can compensate for each drop. However, the sudden increase of blood flow puts pressure on the blood vessel’s walls, which, in turn, increases the risk of high blood pressure (hypertension).

Morning headaches

Starving the brain of oxygen during apneic events causes the arteries to dilate to increase blood flow. The dilation naturally increases the exerted pressure in the head which, in combination with constantly interrupted sleeping cycle, causes morning headaches.

Daytime sleepiness and fatigue

Feeling tired all day after a ‘normal’ night with sleep apnea is one of the most common symptoms of the sleep disorder–and one of the most debilitating ones, too. In fact, any sleep-disturbing disorder comes with daytime fatigue. Your body simply cannot get the rest it needs.

Irritability and mood swings

Sure, you had a bad night of snoring and gasping for air all the time. But no one would really understand that–especially if you are constantly cranky and irritable around them. Trying to explain that your bad mood is caused by lack of a good night’s sleep and because your brain doesn’t receive much GABA chemicals is definitely an option, but hands down the best thing you can do is take action see the doctor.

Constant awakenings at night

Waking too often at night? Having to go the bathroom in the middle of your REM sleep? These are yet another ‘pleasant’ symptoms going hand in hand with sleep apnea. Irregular breathing and loud apneic snoring would most likely interrupt your sleep (and, unfortunately, your bed partner’s sleep as well).

Increased stress levels and increased risk of depression

Decreased blood oxygen levels and impaired cardiovascular system leads to extra exertion on your body, high blood pressure and high stress levels. New studies have shown that patients with obstructive sleep apnea have higher levels of the neurotransmitter glutamate and low levels of the GABA neurotransmitter. Dysfunction of glutamatergic neurotransmission is considered to be a core feature of stress-related mental illnesses.

In almost any list of top 10 sleep apnea symptoms one can run into loud snoring, breathing pauses, sounds of choking or gasping for air during the night, daytime fatigue and more. The point of this informational article, however, is not just to list these signs of OSA, but to convey the idea that none of these symptoms is something you should tolerate and live with. So take matters into your own hands and make an appointment with a sleep specialist who can diagnose you and recommend treatment options for sleep apnea if you indeed have one.
