How to choose the right mask type?
There are many types of CPAP masks out there. The three major types are full-face, nasal and nasal pillows masks. All types can be found and ordered here at CPAPeuropa, BUT please be sure to know what’s your type as this is very important for your successful sleep apnoea therapy.
Actually, the masks is probably the first most important thing in sleep apnoea treatment as it decides comfort, therapy effectiveness and compliance. If your masks is leaking, or it not the right size for you, or makes your face hurt in the morning, or is too loud for you to sleep with… then you need a better mask!
Choosing the right mask is a decision that should be entirely determined on your needs! Are you a back sleeper? Do you breathe from the mouth when you are sleeping? Do you read in bed before going to sleep?
All of these factors should be taken into account when selecting a CPAP mask.

How to clean your CPAP mask?
Maintaining your CPAP equipment in spotless condition not only prolongs its life, but makes sleep apnoea therapy more comfortable while keeping you healthy!
Cleaning your CPAP mask may not be an easy task though. You need to consult its manual to know what parts of it (headgear, connector, cushion, pillow, etc.) can be cleaned with warm water or mild soap and which parts should never be exposed to chemicals.
A great way to automatically clean your CPAP masks, tubings, and even the CPAP’s humidifier is the Lumin 3B UV-C Light device.
How to chose the right mask size?
If you have undergone titration study, then your doctor has probably already established the most suitable masks (and CPAP pressure) for your needs. So you’ll just have to find the specific model in the right size.
Sleep studies (or titration studies) often give you the option to try several masks even before you begin the study. The staff conducting the study will let you try different CPAP masks in order to get you fitted with the most comfortable nasal or full-face type. If you don’t find the mask comfortable, you should ask either for another size or for another model. In most of these cases simply changing the size of the headgear, cushion or pillow is enough to achieve that comfortable and leak-free therapy that is so important for sleep apnoea therapy.
Every CPAP mask comes in different sizes (except several pediatric masks that come in a universal size). Resmed masks specifically offer many different sizes (headgear, cushion, pillow size, etc.). Each model — whether it is AirFit, DreamWear (recalled), Fisher, Amara (recalled) or else) has a sizing template (or a fitting guide) designed to help you measure the mask correctly according to your facial features before picking a size.
Some ResMed CPAP masks even come in intermediate sizes like “SML – MED” to accommodate both the size of the patient’s head but also the size of their nose (the N30i is a great example).

Get Fitted With the Appropriate Size
